Every year, the Web3D consortium hosts an annual international conference on 3D Web Technology, which took place this year from June 2nd through June 7th in Brisbane, Australia. To celebrate Australia’s first host, the International conference on 3D Web Technology and the Web3D consortium inaugurated exhibition– Art gallery on|off: 100101010.

The exhibition is held in two locations: at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Brisbane, from June 5-7th, 2017 and at the Nanyang Technological University at the Media Art Nexus NTU (MAN), from October 11-13th under auspices of Centre for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), School of Art, Design, and College of Humanities, Arts and Social Science, and Art & Heritage Museum Singapore.
The aim of the three-day exhibit and symposium is to:
- Connect communities, audiences, places, and cultures through stories and art experiences
- Present interdisciplinary collaborative art works and art methodologies that combine various fields such as art, science, technology
- Inspire and inform students and faculty to create content at the intersection among art, science, technology and culture teaching the next generation of creative professionals how to master emerging technologies for storytelling
